Everybody knows how N Kiran Kumar Reddy had managed to get into the Chief Minister’s post. His own cabinet colleague D L Ravindra Reddy has alleged that Kiran got the post by carrying suitcases to Delhi.
But Kiran has always given the impression that it was because of his sheer talent and clean political image that the Congress high command had picked him up for the top post in the state. And now, he has started building castles in the air; aiming for a much bigger position.
The Chief Minister reportedly commented before some media persons who regularly run around him that he is, in fact, of Prime Minister’s material and has stood very good chance of reaching the hot seat in Delhi.
“After Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, there is no other person than me who has a clean image in the contemporary Congress politics. If Rahul Gandhi does not make it to the Prime Minister’s seat in the next elections, I will be the only person who can be considered for the hot seat,” Kiran is learnt to have said.
Well, there is a limit even for day-dreaming. One wonders whether Kiran would be able to win his assembly seat in the next elections at all, in the wake of a strong wave in favour of YSR Congress party. It would be a great achievement if Kiran can protect his seat, leave alone aiming for the PM post. All the best Kiran!
