Newly-elected Rajya Sabha member and Congress leader K Chiranjeevi seems to be interested in “good boy” image in the state, as he leaves for New Delhi to enter the upper house.
On Tuesday when he formally took the official letter on his election to Rajya Sabha, Chiranjeevi was all praise for former Chief Ministers late Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, N Chandrababu Naidu and K Rosaiah, besides present Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy.
“The state assembly was like an educational institution for me and I have learnt a lot from every leader. I was inspired by YSR’s leadership qualities and he had inspired me to come into politics. His untimely death shocked me to a great extent. Similarly, I was very much impressed with opposition leader N Chandrababu Naidu, who regularly comes to the assembly like a disciplined student and questions the government on people’s issues,” he said.
On Rosaiah, Chiranjeevi said he was very much inspired by the veteran leader’s command over the subject and his retorts to the opposition’s criticism. “I also admire present Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for his clean governance and crisis management,” he added.
The only leader which Chiranjeevi had failed to mention was Lok Satta Party president Dr Jayaprakash Narayana. And he was the one who could be Chiranjeevi’s real inspiration!
