The City of Pearls is all set to unearth the golfing jewel of the South when the second leg of the Times of India Leaders' Challenge Tour - presented by Sahara India Pariwar in association with Chevrolet - tees off at the Boulder Hills Golf and Country Club on Saturday.
The one-day qualifier will see some of the city's most competitive golfers and invitees from Chennai who would look to establish their supremacy. It will be a richly-deserved title for the winners as not only will they have the bragging rights but will also travel to the grand final to be held at the Stockley Pines Golf Course in London.
Known for its unique format in each of the previous editions, the current season will be played on a Modified Stableford Format which aims to reward the good and penalise the bad holes in a round with each player receiving a 2/3 handicap allowance. As many as four golfers from each venue will qualify for the finale that includes the winner and runner-up from the 0-17 and 18 & above handicap categories. The top two teams will be rewarded on a draw of lots at the prize presentation dinner.
This tour enjoys the association of niche partners Sahara India and Chevrolet and is co-sponsored by Ballantine's, Shri Ramswaroop Memorial Group of Professional Colleges while Oberoi Hotels and Resorts and Trident Hotels are the hospitality partners and Cotstyle is the "Styling Partner". The winner's prizes are sponsored by The Mobile Store and the event is managed by Tiger Sports Marketing.
