Congress leader Vijay Bahuguna was on Tuesday sworn in as Chief Minister of Uttarakhand as the party brushed aside the revolt by Union Minister Harish Rawat.
Congress leader Vijay Bahuguna addresses the media at his residence in Dehra Dun on Tuesday ahead of his swearing-in as Uttarakhand Chief Minister.
Earlier in the day the Congress high command ruled out any rethink over the issue of Chief Ministership in Uttarakhand.
Protesting against being overlooked, Mr. Harish Rawat had reportedly sent his resgination from the Union government as Minister of State for Agriculture and Parliamentary Affairs.
Mr. Bahuguna, who was named Chief Minister by Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Monday night, had told reporters that he alone would take oath as Chief Minister on Tuesday. In three or four days, six more Ministers may be inducted after consultations with the party high command, he said.
