The main reasons behind NTR’s grand win in 80s are his people-loving policies. With many road-shows and jaitra-yatras, NTR moved close with people and has built his temple in their hearts. That is why he is respected as the souvenir who has taken Telugu pride to a new level, though many have done it before. After becoming Chief Minister too, NTR has not let these policies fall. His Kilo-Two Rupee rice scheme is enough to make people glue to him.
Same is the case with deceased Congress leader YS Rajasekhar Reddy. With one single road-show he bought the Congress to power in AP. Despite of the scam news springing against him each day, people still worship him. Though he burned the pockets of government if at all, his welfare schemes for farmers, middle-class and poor have won him hearts. YSR spent most of his time interacting with state’s citizens and did something for them though he cash strapped AP government.
However, coming to TDP leader Chandrababu Naidu, road-shows and schemes for the sake of people are not a ‘word’ in his diary. Naidu operates like a CEO of a corporate company by sending his team of trusted politicians, whenever there is some epidemic. Rather operating by heart, he uses his brain most of times. Except for election campaigns, his mingling with public is comparatively low than the above two. This in turn is not making him close to people’s heart and they do not believe his promises now. Though he is responsible for development of IT sector in the state, he is directly pointed fingers by farmers for electricity and water related issues. With his intelligent ways, he has won the wrath of people than faith.
For people, scams never matter and only what is given to them matters. Analysts say that Chandrababu should learn lessons from NTR and YSR in attracting people to continue his journey in political circuits. Else, TDP may see worst nightmare in the coming by-polls and 2014 elections. Naidu garu! Times are changing sir.
