T Youth suicide: Case against Sonia Gandhi posted to Apr 9

 The Patiala Court on Tuesday, Mar 13 posted the hearing of a case against the Congress president Sonia Gandhi that she was responsible for the suicides of 700 youth in Telangana to April 9.

Some Telangana protagonists have filed this case in the Patiala Court in New Delhi, charging Sonia Gandhi of being responsible for the deaths of 700 students and youngsters who laid down their lives for achieving Telangana. 

However, the court which admitted the petition has adjourned further hearing to April 9.

The Congress-led UPA government is now planning to constitute a Telangana Development Council with special powers and funds for rapid development of the Telangana region instead of formation of a separate Telangana state.

Sonia Is Fourth Richest Politician In The World

An American magazine has listed the UPA chairperson and Congress President Sonia Gandhi among the richest persons in the world.

According to “Business Insider”, Sonia is ranked fourth among the richest politicians in the world.

In an article titled ‘Meet The 23 Richest Politicians In The World’, the US magazine mentioned that Sonia Gandhi owns assets  2-19 billion USD, that is Rs 10,000 crores to Rs 45,000 crore.

However, the article does not elaborate on the sources of her income nor provide any details of her assets.

“Gandhi is originally from Italy. She is the widow of Rajiv Gandhi, the assassinated former prime minister. As leader of the Congress party, Gandhi played a key role in reviving the party’s fortune and power,” the article said.

The article gives a list of the richest politicians in the world, whose names are derived from local officials and US Congress members to royal heirs and foreign ministers.

King of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz with an asset of $21 billion finds himself numero uno in the list. The last in the list is US Senator John Kerry, with a networth of $181-$281 million.

Savitri Jindal, another Indian, figures at number 7, with net worth of $13.2 billion. She is the Member of Legislative Assembly in Haryana.

Residing in India, she is one of the richest Indian women and serves as a non-executive board member of OP Jindal, the steel and power conglomerate and family heirloom run by her sons.
